VANESSA PARR

With a background in music, gymnastics, dance, and distance running, movement and physicality have always been a part of my life. Now an avid yogi for over a decade, I hold two 200-hour vinyasa certifications. I did my first YTT in 2015 with renowned teacher-teacher Liz Arch (Los Angeles, CA). In 2019, I felt the call to do a second one with Lara Heimann (Princeton, NJ), whose ingenious approach to yoga has changed my life. After my first class with her, I knew there was no going back. Although I am looking forward to completing my 500-hour with Lara in 2020, my body continues to be my greatest teacher.

Recently, I was teaching LYT yoga full-time in the DC suburbs at Honest Soul Yoga’s two locations. I have just moved back to LA, and am looking for a new home studio. I also have digital classes available through their sister site, practiceeverywhere.com/hsyonline. I find my students really love the “why” of LYT yoga! I enjoy a thematic class, with a strong emphasis on anatomical alignment, intelligent sequencing, functional mobility, and mind-body connection. I believe yoga is for everyone, and am determined to help my students safely find their own power and joy on the mat. Come to my class expecting to sweat, grow, and smile!

When not on the mat, you’ll find me studying wine, recording and mixing music, and planning my next trip to the beach!
