OMER SHAPIRA

My name is Omer Shapira and I live, breathe, and teach movement and yoga. For me, yoga is a way of life, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to pass this gift on to others.

As soon as I came across yoga, at a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be a yoga teacher.

In 2014, after obtaining a B.A. in Communications (with a minor in Psychology), I completed my first yoga teacher training course and received a certification from the International Yoga Alliance.

I was fortunate enough to study at Prana Yoga College in Tel Aviv, where I went on to teach.

In 2016, I completed a Posture and Movement Therapy course taught by Dr. Gil Solberg and Ohad Interator. The training I received under them has taught me to harness yoga as a therapeutic tool to improve students’ physical well-being.
In 2020, I received an additional certification in LYT Yoga. This yoga method emphasizes the building of strength, mobility, energy, and adaptability, in order to better face the physical and mental challenges of everyday life.

A few years ago, I also became a parent, an event that has proven to be an endlessly enriching teaching experience. Parenthood has expanded my capacity to be attentive and to engage in effective communication with my students, helping me assess my students’ needs and better cater to them.

As I teach yoga, I continue to deepen and expand my own practice, under the mentorship of the best experts in their field. My teachers include Paul Harvey (a student of Desikachar’s), Dr. Gil Solberg, and Ohad Interator, as well as the founder of LYT yoga, Lara Heimann.

Through the teaching of yoga, I aspire to create a supportive environment in which my students can come to a better understanding of themselves through a strong, stable physical experience.
