Monika Bappert discovered her love for movement 6 years ago through Yoga. She grew up on the outskirts of Chicago IL, currently residing in the Northern Suburbs. Once she found the LYT method in 2019, her practice, teaching, and entire life changed for the better. She was able to feel confident and pain-free in her own body and movement practice, teach with more purpose and intention and connect deeper to her students through sustainable movement, meditation, and discovering habits that develop throughout all of our daily lives. Gearing her teaching towards private sessions, Monika’s focus in teaching is on active engagement, pacing of breath, and sustainable sequencing. She believes that Yoga is a lifelong practice of learning about how to receive your thoughts, how to hold and share energy, how to move and feel your body, and how to react to yourself and others. A smile goes a long way, laughter can be transformed into new bright energy, gluteal engagement can aid in all things, and we have the capability to inspire ourselves and others to live in the present through each moment, our movement, and our actions. Monika trusts that a physical movement practice can begin to open many other doors in our lives, different for each of us, but all with similar intentions.
When she is not on her mat, or teaching, she is spending as much time as she can with family and close friends. Taking time to travel and enjoy the small magical moments of everyday home life with her husband. She loves heading to her family lake house in WI, to be with family, head out on the paddle board, sitting by the fire, or by the lake with her feet in the water. You can normally find her eating pizza on Friday nights, watching Friends, Harry Potter, or Game of Thrones in the evening, and depending on the time of day, enjoying the perfect cup of morning coffee or a delicious glass of wine on her back patio. You can follow her on IG @monikabapps.
