Jude is a movement educator, practitioner, and writer based in the West Midlands, and working around the UK. She works in the field of mind-body practice, the arts – writing, theatre and dance, and the voluntary/non-profit sector. Jude is currently training with YogaStream for her 500hr Yoga Teacher Training with Lara Heimann (Physical Therapist and RYT 500hr) and with Yoga Medicine for 500hr Yoga Teacher Training with Tiffany Cruikshank. Her varied roles have included: yoga teacher (RYT 200hr), movement practitioner, writer, movement director, choreographer, workshop leader, dance teacher, performer, and deviser. She practices and exercises movement and mindfulness every day at home, in classes, and in the rehearsal room. She dances and choreographs on a regular basis, relishes fun in the outdoors, and is a keen runner – long-distance road and multi-terrain – through which she supports the work of Second Mile Haiti and Lungs for Living along with other non-profit organizations. Jude teaches yoga on a regular basis at Warwick Sport, various locations at the University of Warwick and Coventry University, as well as in other settings (please see portfolio for further information). In 2017, Jude spent a year as a teacher and co-owner of Urban Love Warrior Yoga, playing a central part of the team taking on a variety of tasks including teaching, assisting, administration, press, marketing, web content, writing, and editing & proofreading.
A writer, literary enthusiast, and lover of the arts, Jude creates pieces for yoga and well-being publications, manages her own blog Little Yellow Room, reads avidly across many genres, and feeds her love and appreciation for the arts into her yoga and movement teaching and practice. She believes that together these can create a form of medicine.
Jude’s training and study include Detour Method Online (Yoga Detour), Yoga Teacher Training 200hr (Frog Lotus Yoga International), StoneCrabs Young Directors Programme, PgDip Shakespeare and Theatre (Distinction, University of Birmingham), and BA (Hons) English Literature (2:1, Lancaster University). Jude has developed a diverse range of skills and approaches across the field of movement, including Viewpoints, Laban, Bartenieff, grounding, bio-mechanics, and dance. She has expanded her professional development in movement and theatre through taking workshops with the RSC, NSDF, IdeasTap, and LAMDA. Jude achieved Grade Eight Distinction in Ballet (RAD), and has acquired the skills and knowledge of many dance forms. She has diverse skills in movement, text, voice, and choreography.
